Three-fourths of Poland is flat or slightly hilly - perfect for hiking and biking trails. In the South, the beautiful Karkonosze Mountains and the Alpine Tatra Mountains rise up to 2000 metres above sea level.
In the western part of Poland, mountain hikers love the low, interestingly formed Sudeten Mountains with their lovely mountain pastures.
The heavily forested Bieszczady Mountains, at 1300 metres, delight animal lovers with rare European bison, Carpathien deer, lynxes and wild cats. Even wolves come over the Russian border.
And last but not least, the low lands with many rivers and the northeastern part of Poland are like a fairytale come true, with over 2000 Masurian lakes and the breathtaking Baltic Sea coast.
